This past Fourth of July, I had the thrill of capturing the vibrant energy of Grass Lake, Michigan's annual Independence Day celebration for a highlight video. The day kicked off with the classic small-town parade rolling through the streets, filled with colorful floats, and community spirit. Then, at Grass Lake County Park, the fun continued with the beloved chicken broil hosted by the Grass Lake Sportsman's Club—delicious half-chicken dinners complete with beans, chips, roll, and water—followed by the wildly entertaining cardboard boat races, where creative teams launched their homemade vessels across the water (some gliding to victory, others hilariously sinking in spectacular fashion). From the cheers of the crowd to the splashy chaos on the lake, it was pure patriotic fun, and I'm excited to share the full video that brings all the excitement to life! Check it out and relive the highlights of this beloved local tradition.
